Car Charged UK set up and tested their wireless charging demo at commercial site
Ahead of the curve, Car Charged UK has been working with manufacturers of wireless charging technology for several years. Last year we installed our very own wireless charging station at our head office in Mansfield so that our electric van charges hands free. Our latest demonstration was featured at a large commercial site to cater for multiple vehicles.
What Was Delivered?
In September 2023, we completed our design and installation of 12-bay solar carport. With a shared goal of pushing towards net-zero, this was an excellent opportunity to work with to exhibit the various technologies available to help get us there. As part of this installation, we featured a demo of our wireless charging pad along with our Nissan e-NV200 to display its capabilities. This was demoed to various members of the EV industry across a two-day showcase event.
How it Works
We made sure the site was delivered fully functional, with other features including full dynamic load management as to enable safe management of the total electrical load when additional EVs plug into the system.
Wireless charging uses inductive technology, meaning electricity is transmitted between one magnetic coil in a ground-mounted pad to another under a vehicle. When the coils are aligned by driving over the pad, the charge point activates the session. Visit our page on wireless charging if you are looking to learn more about the process.
